Pandemic is more reasonably priced at 35 and is a collaborative game, pitting players against the game rather than each other. Honestly, you can find the two player rules online, but I also think if you play Catan you need the Traders and Barbarians Expansion anyways, so you might as well buy it and get both things you want. Both of these games are addictive and fun and can be played again and again. I believe they released all these games and players were clamoring for a two player version, so they released some rules in their next expansion to appease the masses. Meaning if you own the original Settlers of Catan you can find two player rules for that game in the Catan Traders and Barbarians Rulebook. However, if you buy the Catan Traders and Barbarians Expansion there are two player rules in that rulebook. Choose 'Custom Game' To add a player, Click '+' next to 'Add player'.
Choose the game to play ( The Game, Seafarers, Cities & Knights, etc) by click the appropriate button at the bottom of the screen.

These games do not include boards and are nothing like the actual Catan board games. Yes, you can play with both players and AIs in Catan Universe, at least on the PC version. Yes, there are some specifically made 2 player Catan card games. Currently, all Catans are 3-4 players and 5-6 if you have the extensions. If you are a fan of Catan you may have been wondering if they have a two player version. The original Settlers of Catan is amazing and has a cult like following that is definitely main stream now.
